We have several litters of puppies born here every year. It is the mushers' responsibilty to make sure they grow up to be well socialized, working sled dogs. One step in this process is when the puppies graduate from living together in a pen, to having their own place. This is a very special day for them, because they get their own house, collar, chain, food bowl and name. The hardest part for the mushers is coming up with a good name.

Naming tips

1. Naming a whole litter with a common theme helps us figure out siblings quicker. For example, we have beans (Kidney & Pinto), dwarfs (Sleepy, Dopey & Sneezy), bears (Panda, Grizzly & Bear)
2. Naming a puppy with a variation of a parents name is common. For example, Cosmo beget Cosmet, Solita beget Solice, Kracko beget Kracker.
3. We sometimes name dogs based on color. For example Snowball & Ghost.
